Caretaker minister of sports, Abdulahi Bolaji has hinted on plans by the sports ministry to streamline the thirty-seven sports federations and focus only on sports that Nigeria can excel at the global stage.

Caretaker minister of sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi has revealed plans by the sports ministry to streamline the number of sports federations to just ten. The minister opined that having the 37 federations presently in existence cut down to 10 would help the country focus on sports that can always deliver positive results.

As the ruling of the Federal High court in Abuja a week ago which stated that the NFF and NPL were not properly incorporated continues to elicit reactions, chairman of the Nigeria Premier League, Victor Baribote Rumson has declared that he has no knowlege of the illegality issue.

Nigerian football fraternity has been thrown into confusion following the ruling of the Abuja Federal High Court which declared that the Nigeria Football Federation and Nigeria Premier League were not properly incorporated and therefore illegal.

The Nigeria Football Federation and the Liberia Football Association on Friday agreed to postpone, by two weeks, the international friendly match between the two countries' Senior Men's Teams, earlier billed for Sunday, January 15.

The Palancas Negras of Angola are expected to arrive Nigeria on Tuesday for the much anticipated international friendly with the Super Eagles of Nigeria. NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu said on Monday that the Angolan contingent is now expected to land at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja aboard a chartered flight, at noon on Tuesday, January 10.
